Özet
Kuşlar, gerek beslenme amacı ile kullanılmaları gerekse kutsal sayılıp saygı duyulmaları ile tarihi zamandilimi içinde önem verilen canlılar olmuşlardır. Geleneksel toplumlarda, barınmaları ve onlardan en etkilişekilde fayda sağlanabilmesi için yapılar yapılmıştır. Kuşevleri, onlardan fayda beklenmeden, kuşlarınbarınması için yapılmaları ile diğer yapılardan ayrılırlar. Osmanlı coğrafyasında yaygın olarakuygulanmıştır. İnsanlara ait yapıların cephelerinde yer almaları diğer önemli özelliklerindendir.Günümüzde toplum yapısı, inşaat teknikleri, yapım malzemelerinin değişimi gibi nedenlerleyapılmamaktadırlar.Makale kapsamında kuşevlerinin günümüzde uygulanmalarını sağlamak için fikir geliştirilmesiamaçlanmıştır. Makalede öncelikle kuşlara ait yapıların tarihçesinden bahsedilmiştir. Ardındankuşevlerinin insanların kullandıkları yapılarla ilişkileri, yapım malzemeleri ve çeşitleri hakkında bilgiverilmiştir. Sonra kuşevlerinin Osmanlı Mimarisi ve Sanatı açısından önemi üzerinde durulmuştur.Kuşevleri ile ilgili bilgi verilmesinin ardından geleneksel bir objenin, yapı elemanının günümüz şartlarıiçinde tekrar değerlendirilmesi için bir öneri sunulmuştur.
Birds have been important creatures throughout the history as they were kept for feeding purposes and also were respected as they were thought sacred. In traditional societies, structures have been constructed to provide shelter and benefit from them in the most effective way. Birdhouses are different from other structures because they are designed to accommodate birds without the idea of getting benefit from them. They have been widely applied in the Ottoman settlements. The other important feature of these constructions was that they were located on the façades of structures which belonged to humans. They are not made nowadays because of various reasons such as changes in society, construction techniques, and construction materials. It is aimed in the article to develop ideas to ensure the implementation of bird houses. In the article, firstly the history of the structures which belong to birds is mentioned. Afterwards, information was given about the relationship of bird houses with the buildings used by humans, construction materials and types. Then, the importance of bird houses in terms of Ottoman Architecture and Art was emphasized. After giving information about bird houses, a proposal was made for the re-evaluation of a traditional object under the current conditions.
