dc.description.abstract | Universities are educational environments in which well-trained and qualified individuals are raised, knowledge is generated, and produced knowledge is openly and explicitly shared with society at large. Universities are the type of institutions in that social issues are analyzed, solutions are offered, and solution-providing specialists are educated. These institutes, which also entail a range of units that provide education, housing, socializing, and various other functions, are positioned within the campus premises. Since achievement score of universities is aligned with the quality of environment offered to users, it is imperative to set up and develop university campuses in accordance with specified planning principles. This requirement can only be assured if interdepartmental relation is made sustainable, settlements are analyzed, programmed, planned, and projected in a systematic pattern. Within the context of this study a literature review has been conducted to explore planning stage at university campuses; upon analyzing center campus of thriving Tekirdağ Namik Kemal University founded in 2006 in Turkey, suggestions have been provided to plan and develop university campuses based on the sampling model. © Peter Lang AG 2020. | |
