Abstract
Tarihi çevreler, kendine has farklı özellikleriyle birlikte bir yerleşimin kültürel kimliğini yansıtırlar. Sanayi devrimi ve sonrasında birçok ülkede yaşanan teknolojik gelişmeler, hızlı kentleşme ve nüfus artışı tarihi çevrelere zarar vermektedir. Diğer taraftan hatalı planlama kararları her geçen gün tarihi değerlerin kaybına yol açmaktadır. Bu noktada plancı disiplinlerin görevi; sürdürülebilir korumaOkullanma dengesi içerisinde, kentsel mirasın çevresiyle birlikte korunarak, geleceğe yönelik sağlıklı kentsel gelişmelerin sağlanması olmalıdır. Buradan yola çıkılarak bu çalışmada; Edirne Maarif Caddesi örneğinde; tarihi kent merkezlerinde, kentsel peyzaj planlama çalışmalarının, kentin doğal ve kültürel yapı bütünlüğünün korunmasındaki önemini ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, örnek alanın korumaOkullanma dengesi içinde yaşatılması ve yenilenmesine yönelik analiz ve değerlendirmeler yapılmış, alınması gerekli önlemler belirlenmiş ve alana ilişkin öneri bir kentsel peyzaj tasarım projesi hazırlanmıştır.
Historical environments reflect cultural identity of a settlement with its specific different features. The technological developments that are experienced in many countries after the industrial revolution, rapid urbanization and population growth damage on the historical environments. In the other hand, the faulty planning decisions cause to lose historical values every passing day. At this point, the task of the discipline planner has to ensure a healthy urban developments for future, as the urban heritage is protected with its environment in the sustainable balance between protection and usage. In this regard; in the case of Edirne Maarif Street, this study aimed to emphasize the importance that the urban landscape planning affaires protect the structural integrity both natural and cultural environments in the historical urban center. For this purpose; the analysis and evaluation have been made to survive and regenerate in the balance between protection and usage in this sample area. The other hand, the measurements to be taken has been determined and a urban landscape design project has been prepared as a suggestion related to this area.
