| dc.description.abstract | Halkevleri, Cumhuriyet Dönemi modernleşme hareketlerinin, 1930-1950tarihleri arasında, en önemli araçlarından birisidir. Kuruluş biçimi veörgütlenmesi ile merkezi bir yapıya sahip olan ve dönemin tek partisi olanCumhuriyet Halk Fırkası’na bağlı bir kuruluş olarak halkevlerininyürüttüğü faaliyetler, modernleşme sürecine ilişkin önemli bilgileriçermektedir. Dil ve edebiyat şubesi, güzel sanatlar şubesi, temsil şubesi,spor şubesi, içtimai yardım şubesi, halk dershaneleri ve kurslar şubesi,kütüphane ve neşriyat şubesi, köycüler şubesi, müze ve neşriyat şubesiolarak dokuz alanda faaliyet gösteren halkevleri okuma yazamadantiyatroya, yayıncılıktan sinemaya, yardım çalışmalarında köye kadar genişbir alanda etkinlik içerisinde olmuştur. Halkevlerinin önemlifaaliyetlerinden birisi dergi yayıncılığıdır. Genel politikalar, ideolojik vekültürel dönüşümü sağlamaya dönük çabalar halkevi dergileri aracılığıylayerel unsurlarla harmanlanarak taşraya aktarılmaktadır. Bu dergiler aynızamanda halkevi faaliyetlerinde görev alanlar için bir rehber taşımaktadır.Dönemin hâkim ideolojisi batılılaşma yoluyla toplumun tamamınınmodernleşmesidir. Bu modernleşme sürecine toplumun tüm kesimlerininkatılması eğitim yoluyla sağlanmaya çalışılmaktadır. Örgün eğitim ilegelecek nesillerin istendik biçimde yetiştirilmesi sağlanırken halkevleriyetişkin eğitimini hedeflemekte ve bu yol ile her alanda ve her kesimde yenirejimin istediği insan tipine en kısa sürede ulaşma amacı güdülmektedir.Merkezi politikanın yerele aktarılma ve yerel unsurlarla uyumunu sağlamabiçimini göstermesi açısından halkevlerinin dergi yayıncılığı oldukçaönemlidir. Bu çalışma bu kapsamda Kırklareli Halkevi tarafındanyayınlanan Batı Yolu dergisini Cumhuriyet modernleşmesi kapsamındainceleme amacı taşımaktadır. Modernleşme sürecinde Trakya Bölgesi’neverilen önemin yanı sıra derginin isminin dönemin genel politikasınıyansıtması dikkat çekicidir. Sekiz sayı yayınlanan dergi, yayın içeriği ileuygulanan merkezi politikaları halka yayma işlevini üstlenmiştir. Bu tür biryayın politikası dönemin yukarıdan aşağıya modernleşme politikasıylauyumludur. Batı Yolu Dergisi bu anlamda halkevi dergilerinin tamamındagörülebilecek özellikleri yansıtmaktadır. | |
| dc.description.abstract | People’s Houses were among the most important agents of the modernization movements in Turkish Republican Period between 1930-1950 The people’s houses were affiliated to Republican People’s Party which was the only political party of that period and the activities carried out by the people’s houses provide important information about the modernization process of that era. Magazine publishing constitutes a significant place among these activities. The milestones of the aim of achieving ideological and cultural transformation of the nation as a whole were blended with local elements in people’s house magazines and were conveyed to the public. The dominant ideology of the period was the modernization which went hand in hand with westernization. It was aimed to ensure that all segments of the society participate in this modernization process through education. People’s houses focused on adult education and it was aimed to build the ideal person desired by the new regime in each and every segment. Magazine publishing of the people’s houses is very important in terms of showing the way how the central policy is transferred to lay public and is harmonized with the local factors. In this context, this study aims to analyze Batı Yolu magazine published by Kırklareli People’s House within the scope of Republican modernization in Turkey. It is noteworthy to mention that the name of the magazine reflects the general policy of the period, as well as indicating the importance given to Thrace region during the modernization process. Via the eight issues published, the magazine undertook the mission of spreading the central policies of the implementation period of Republican ideals. This type of publication policy is in line with the top-down modernization policy which was chosen by the decision makers of Turkey during that period. | |
