Abstract
Feng-shui bir tasarım kavramı olarak şehir bölge planlama, mimarlık, iç mimarlık ve peyzaj mimarlığı gibi tasarım meslek disiplinlerini ilgilendiren geniş kapsamlı bir olgudur. Feng-shui mekan tasarım ilkelerini içeren ve temel ilkeleri; doğayı gözlemek, doğayla uyum sağlamak ve doğayı tahrip etmemek olan bir yaklaşımdır. Bu ilkeler onu sadece bir hobi, sanat ya da mistik bir inanç olmaktan çıkarmaktadır. Bugün gündemden düşmeyen ve araştırma konularının başında yer alan sürdürülebilir tasarım, ekolojik planlama, ekolojik tasarım ve ekolojik yerleşimler kavramlarının temeli uzakdoğuda ilk kez yüzyıllar önce ortaya çıkan bu felsefeye dayanmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, feng-shui teorilerini ve uygulamalarını peyzaj tasarımı kapsamında değerlendirmek ve açık yeşil alan tasarımında en ideal feng-shui modellerini ortaya koymaktır. İlk bölümde kavramsal açıklamalar yapılmış ve feng shuinin tarihi süreç içindeki gelişimine değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde uluslararası ölçekte gerçekleştirilen örnek uygulamalara yer verilirken son bölümde ise peyzaj mimarlığı açısından kullanım alanlarına ilişkin önerilere yer verilmiştir.
Feng-shui is a comprehensive concept dealing with design professions such as city and regional planning, architecture, indoor design and landscape architecture as a design phenomenon. It is also a design concept including space design principles whose main design aims are observing nature to ensure balance with nature and conserving nature by designing harmonies environments with nature. These principles make feng-shui extracted only from being hobby, mystical belief or art. Many actual design approaches such as sustainable design, ecological settlements, ecological planning and design were based on this philosophy which appeared centuries ago in the Far East. The main aim of this study is to evaluate the theoretical base and the implementations of feng-shui and to determine the ideal feng-shui models in open green space design approaches. At the first stage conceptual explanation about feng-shui and the development of feng-shui through history was set. At the second stage experiences and application at international stage were discussed. And, finally the usage of feng-shui in landscape architecture design was evaluated and proposals were offered.
