dc.description.abstract | This study was to determine the supplement intake with dietary habits in Turkey’s Thrace, with a total of 1010 people attended the volunteers with different sociocultural backgrounds was conducted in June-September 2018. Chi-square significance test is used for statistical analysis. 38.2% of the respondents stated that they used supplements before or they are using them now and 61.8% of the respondents stated that they did not use supplements. It was determined that the usage ratio of vitamin B12, C and D3 were 37.5%,33.2%,27.1%, respectively. Iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc follow them (24.%5, 25.3%, 18.5%, 11.7%, respectively). Glu-cosamine chondritin, biotin, St John’s wort, panax ginseng and coenzyme Q-10 were never known by more than half of the respondents. It has been determined that the level of intake and information of women in use of folic acid and iron is much higher compared to men. It has been determined that 30.1% of those who take supplements use fish oil. Unconscious use of supplements can lead to various health problems. In order to raise awareness of the public on supplements, information activities should be carried out.
