Özet
Kannibalizm, yumurta tavuklarının birbirlerini gagaladıkları ve tüylerini yoldukları bir davranış şekli olup, tavukçuluk endüstrisinin temel problemlerinden biridir. Kannibalizme neden olan birçok faktör bulunmaktadır. Bazı amino asitlerin yetersizliği de kannibalizme neden olan faktörlerden biri olarak bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada farklı düzeylerde metiyonin içeren yemlerin kannibalizm ve yumurta içi kalite özellikleri üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Seksen adet 22 haftalık yaşta beyaz yumurtacı tavuk ticari kompakt tip kafeslerde her bir kafes gözünde 5 tavuk olacak şekilde barındırılmışlardır. Deneme tamamen şansa bağlı deneme desenine göre düzenlenmiştir. Deneme her biri 4 tekerrür olacak şekilde 4 muameleden oluşmuştur. Denemede tavuklara gereksinim düzeyini karşılayan kontrol, gereksinimden % 5 eksik metiyonin içeren negatif kontrol, gereksinimden % 5 ve % 10 fazla metiyonin içeren yemler yedirilmiştir. Deneme 60 gün sürdürülmüştür. Negatif kontrol yemini yiyen tavuklarda kannibalizm görülmemiş, ancak yumurta verimi ve yumurta ağırlığı olumsuz etkilenmiştir.
Cannibalism the behavior were birds start pecking or eating flesh of other birds, is a major problem for layer industry. There are so many factors that cause cannibalism. A deficiency of certain aminoacids is a factor known to influence incidence of cannibalism. The present study aimed to examine the effect of different levels of methionine on cannibalism and egg inner quality. Eighty of 22-week-old white strain laying hens were obtained from a local parent stock supplier and randomly transferred to commercial compact-type wire cages providing 5 hens per cage. The experiment was set up in a completely randomized design. Hens were randomly assigned to each of 4 treatments with 4 replicates per each. Four experimental diets were prepared for the experiment. The control diet was composed the requirement for layers. Negative control diet was included 5% deficient methionine of the requirements for layers, whereas other two diets were included 5% and 10% excessive methionine of the requirement for layers. The experiment was lasted 60 days. The negative control diet was any adverse affect on cannibalism, but it was negatively affect on egg production and egg weight.
