dc.description.abstractIncreasing the world population requires sustainable ways to use the limited resources of the world. In the denim manufacturing process, the key resources are energy, water, chemical substance, and time. Hence, effective management of water, energy, and other resources are crucial to make the manufacturing process sustainable. Therefore, environmentally friendly chemicals and water, energy, and time-saving methods have been improved over the years. However, today the awareness of and demand for sustainability has been widespread around the world, and this has also forced the firms to find more sustainable solutions in their manufacturing processes. In this chapter, previous and current research on denim washing has been reviewed and its sustainability aspects are highlighted. © 2024 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.
