dc.description.abstractSecurity perceptions of European states have undergone some changes and transformations over time. As of today, the immigration phenomenon is at the center of securitization, although it is not clearly stated. As an actor in the securitization process, when the state perceives a problem as a threat, it gives priority to that problem. If the "object" defined as the problem is specifically considered a national security issue, states claim that they also have special rights to deal with it. After the Cold War, the security understanding of European states changed against immigrants. Political parties acting with the far-right mindset and displaying an anti-immigrant attitude are on the rise. In this study, securitization concepts and securitization of migration in the European Union have been examined. Later, the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) and the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV), which conduct politics over anti-immigration in Europe, were analyzed according to the case study model. The reason for this choice is the remarkable activities of both parties in anti-immigration in recent years. In addition, FPÖ and PVV have common discourses on Euroseptism along with racism and xenophobia. As a result of the study, it has been determined that a marginalizing understanding towards immigrants has begun to strengthen across Europe and this has been exploited by far-right political groups.
dc.description.abstractAvrupalı devletlerin güvenlik algılamaları zaman içerisinde bazı değişim ve dönüşümler geçirmiştir. Günümüz itibariyle açıkça belirtilmemekle birlikte göçmen olgusu güvenlikleştirmenin merkezinde yer almaktadır. Güvenlikleştirme sürecinde aktör olarak devlet, herhangi bir sorunu tehdit olarak algıladığında o soruna öncelik verir. Sorun olarak tanımlanan “nesne” özelde ulusal güvenlik meselesi olarak kabul edilirse devletler bununla baş etmek için özel haklara sahip olduğunu iddia eder. Soğuk Savaş sonrasında Avrupalı devletlerin güvenlik anlayışında göçmenler aleyhine değişim olmuştur. Aşırı sağ düşüncesi ile hareket eden ve göçmen karşıtı tutum gösteren siyasal partiler yükselişe geçmiştir. Bu makalede güvenlikleştirme kavramları ve Avrupa Birliği’nde göçün güvenlikleştirilmesi incelenmiştir. Daha sonra Avrupa’da göçmen karşıtlığı üzerinden siyaset yapan Avusturya Özgürlük Partisi (FPÖ) ile Hollanda Özgürlük Partisi (PVV), durum çalışması modeline göre incelenmiştir. Bu seçimin nedeni ise her iki partinin de göçmen karşıtlığında son yıllarda dikkat çeken faaliyetlerinin olması ve ırkçılık/yabancı düşmanlığı ile birlikte Avroseptisizm konusunda ortak söylemlerinin bulunmasıdır. Makalenin sonucunda, Avrupa genelinde göçmenlere yönelik ötekileştirici bir anlayışın güçlenmeye başladığı ve bunun da aşırı sağcı siyasi gruplar tarafından istismar edildiği tespit edilmiştir.
