dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to reveal the metaphors of university students about global warming, which is one of the current geographical issues across the world. Research sample consists of 250 students attending 7 different departments of Namik Kemal University Faculty of Arts and Sciences at different grades in the 2012-2013 academic year. To enable students to form metaphors in the matter of global warming that is frequently discussed on visual and printed media on a global scale today, the expression, For me, global warming is like ... ... ... ... ... , because ... ... ... ... ... was addressed to students by asking them to fill in the blanks. Students generated 144 different metaphors about the concept of global warming. These metaphors were evaluated under 9 different conceptual categories, and the results were interpreted. | |
