Abstract
This research was carried out to determine the effective control methods for the weeds of pastures in the lowland zone of Mediterranean region. The experiment was conducted on natural pastures in Dervisler Village of Seyhan District of Adana the years of 2007 and 2008. The experiment was designed according to the randomized comple te block design with three replications. In the research, seven different weed control methods such as cutting, fertilization, application of 2.4-D, Picloram+2.4-D, Paraquat or Glyphosate were studied. Results of the research showed that blue eryngo (Eryngium creticum Lam.), blessed milkthistle (Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn.), slender thistle (Carduus pynocephalus L.) iberian knapweed (Centaurea iberica Trev. Ex Sprengel) were effectively controlled by the application of Picloram +2.4-D. Application of Glyphosate and 2.4-D also were effective weed control methods for the weeds of pastures studied.
