dc.description.abstractGünümüz sürecinde kentleşme ile birlikte yapısal alanların yoğunlaşması yeşil alanların azalmasına neden olmuştur. Bu durum özellikle de büyük metropol kentleri daha çok etkilemiştir. Yeşil duvarlar olarak da adlandırılan dikey bahçeler yeşil alanlara yönelik alternatif yaklaşımlardan biri olarak görülmektedir. Dikey bahçe uygulamaları kentlere işlevsel katkıları yanında estetik değer de katmaktadır. Bu anlamda, dikey bahçeler, kent estetiği ve imajını güçlendirmede etkili birer araç olarak görülebilir. Aynı zamanda kent estetiği ve imajı, kent insanın algısal/duygusal durumunu da etkilediği düşünülmektedir. Bundan yola çıkılarak bu tez çalışmasında "dikey bahçelerin İstanbul kent estetiğine ve imajına olan etkisinin kullanıcı algılarına dayalı olarak incelenmesi'' hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaçla İstanbul Anadolu yakası içerisinde yer alan, Acıbadem, Ataşehir, Avrasya Giriş, Çekmeköy, Güzelyalı Ankara Yönü, Karacaahmet, Koşuyolu, Küçükyalı –Edirne yönü, Pendik, Ümraniye ve Ünalan İlçelerinde yer alan ulaşım arterleri çevresindeki dikey bahçe uygulamalarına ilişkin fotoğraflar seçilerek farklı demografik özelliklere sahip 275 kent sakinine anket uygulanarak, dikey bahçelerin İstanbul kent estetiğine ve imajına olan etkisinin ölçülmesi hedeflenmiştir. Tez çalışmasında 5 aşamalı bir yöntem uygulanmış olup, ana kurguyu anket çalışması oluşturmuştur. Anket sonuçları Excel ve SPSS programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre dikey bahçelerin; İstanbul kenti üzerindeki görsellik, canlılık, yapı-yeşil alana destek, dinamizm, konfor ve uyumlu bütünlük içeren imaj ve estetik algısını pozitif yönde arttırdığı belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışma, dikey bahçelerin estetik ve kentsel imaj açısından kentlere olan katkılarının belirlenmesinde gelecekteki çalışmalara katkı sağlaması açısından yol gösterici olacaktır.
dc.description.abstractIn today's period, the concentration of structural areas along with urbanization has caused a decrease in green areas. This situation has especially affected large metropolitan cities, where. Vertical gardens, also know as green walls, are considered an alternative approach to green spaces. In addition to their functional contributions to cities, vertical garden applications add esthetic value. In this regard, vertical gardens can be seen as effective tools for strengthening urban esthetics and image. In this thesis study, it is aimed to "examine the effect of vertical gardens on the urban esthetics and image of Istanbul". For this purpose, photographs of vertical garden applications around the transportation arteries located in the Anatolian side of Istanbul, Acıbadem, Ataşehir, Avrasya Giriş, Çekmeköy, Güzelyalı Ankara Direction, Karacaahmet, Koşuyolu, Küçükyalı – Edirne direction, Pendik, Ümraniye and, Ünalan Districts were selected and different demographics were selected. By applying a survey to 275 city residents with different characteristics, the effect of vertical gardens on the urban esthetics and image of Istanbul was measured. 5-stage method was applied in the thesis study, and after the literature review survey questions and scale were prepared. Evaluation of the data obtained as a because of the survey and findings were determined using the SPSS software. According to the findings, it has been determined that vertical gardens positively increase aesthetic perceptions of the city of Istanbul, including visuality, liveliness, support for buildings and green areas, dynamism, comfort and harmonious integrity This study will be a guide in terms of contributing to future studies in determining the contribution of vertical gardens to cities in terms of esthetic perception and urban image.
