ABSTRACT The aim of the research is; it is an examination of the relationship between the anxiety levels of active sports athletes and their motivation for sports-specific success in contracting the Covid-19 pandemic. The sample group consists of 186 athletes, 119 of whom are women and 67 of whom are men, while the sample group consists of athletes who are in tekirdağ Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate of the universe. In our study, the visual screening model, which is one of the scientific research methods, was used. Data collection tool personal information form, Iron et al. (2020) developed by "Covid-19 anxiety scale" and "Sports-specific success and motivation scale" developed by Tiryaki and Gödelek (1997) were used. SPSS 18 version software was used to analyze the data we obtained for the study. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was applied to check the normality of the distribution of data. T test, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), Tukey multiple comparison and Tamhane's T2 tests were performed in normal distribution data. The relationship between variables was determined using 'Pearson Multiplication Moment Correlation'. As a result of the research; it was found that individual sports athletes had higher anxiety than athletes who played team sports, and it was found that individual sports athletes had higher motivation for success than athletes who played team sports. In addition, a moderately positive relationship was found between athletes' anxiety levels and sports-specific levels of motivation for contracting the new type of Covid-19 pandemic.
