Abstract
Bir “Çılgın Türk” ün, bir “Prima Donna”nın, ünlü sopranomuz Leyla Gencer'in yaşamı, sanat dünyasındaki olağanüstü başarısı, otuz üç yıllık sanat yaşamı keyifle okunan yaşamöyküsel bir romana konu olmuş. Kitabın yazarı, gazeteci Zeynep Oral romanına çok emek vermiş, satırlarına renk ve ses katmış nerdeyse. Anlatının dokusunu, sanatçılarla, Türk ve İtalyan sanat dünyasından ünlü kişilerle yapılan söyleşiler, sanatçının hakkında özellikle yurt dışında yayımlanan dergi ve gazete makalelerinde yeralan övgüler, sanatçıya gelen sayısız mektup ve fotoğraflar oluşturuyor. Yazımız gerçek bir tutkunun, başarının ve azmin öyküsünü irdeliyor. Leyla Gencer çok değişik ve zengin opera, arya repertuvarı ile Türk kadınının “Ben Anadoluyum, ben Türk’üm” diye dünyaya seslenişini biz okurlara bir kez daha anımsatıyor.
The life of Leyla Gencer, our well-known soprano, a “Crazy Turk”, a “Prima Donna”, her great success in the world of art, and her thirty-three years of artistic experience have been the subject of a biographical novel. Zeynep Oral, the author of the novel, has given a colourful touch to the work with her own style. She has built up her narrative with the interviews of famous artists, tributes from various journals and articles from Italy and Turkey, and numerous letters and photographs received by the artist. Our paper explores the real story of passion, achievement, and ambition. With her rich repertory of opera and aria, Leyla Gencer reminds of Turkish woman’s strength once again by crying out “I am Anatolia, I am Turk!”.
