dc.description.abstractIn this paper, the FTTX (Fiber to the X) technology was investigated and the active and passive network architectures used in FTTX applications were explained. The FTTX technology where GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) is used was analyzed with the help of the OptiSystem 14.0 simulation program. It was observed that the system's quality factor decreased, and therefore, the data quality degraded as a result of an increase in the length of the optical fiber and that the system performance worsened as the bit rate increased.
