Özet
Crista terminalis (CT) is a normal anatomic formation in the right atrium (RA). Prominent CT can vary greatly in adults, because it is a variation of septum spurium regression process. There is no enough study assessed by transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) on its frequency and feature. When CT sometimes can be more prominent than usual, it may be confused with a RA mass. Computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and three-dimensional TTE can be used to distinguish a prominent CT from a real mass. However, detailed knowledge of the anatomy of RA is enough to make a correct diagnosis and to avoid unnecessary additional tests. © 2012 Düzce Medical Journal.
