Özet
Landfilling of wastes is the ultimate disposal method applied worldwide. However, the storage of wastes can often cause environmental pollution and can affect live health negatively. In order to avoid these problems, efforts have been made to investigate the landfilling of waste in the bioreactor landfill areas. Bioreactor landfilling is a system that accelerate waste degradation according to conventional landfilling by decomposing, compressing, storing together with sewage sludge, adding enzyme and buffer, recirculating of leachate or applying aeration, and aiming to reach stable waste as soon as possible. In the content of this study, the effects of leachate recirculation, aeration and aeration direction, waste composition, on leachate pollutant concentrations were investigated on a pilot scale. According to the results of the study, it has been determined that the size reduction and aeration are effective systems for the removal of pollutant concentrations in the leachate. It has also been concluded that the aeration from the top of reactor is also an effective application. © 2020 Gazi Universitesi Muhendislik-Mimarlik. All rights reserved.
