Obesity is a multifactorial disease associated with adverse health outcomes. The fact that it is caused by malnutrition and lack of physical activity suggests that it is preventable. We aimed to reveal the relationship with obesity by determining the knowledge, attitudes and physical activity levels of the patients who applied to our outpatient clinic. A total of 63 questions were applied face-to-face to 301 volunteers, 176 women and 125 men, between April and September 2022, using the Attitudes towards Healthy Eating Scale and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form, in addition to the questionnaires questioning sociodemographic information, nutrition and physical activity characteristics. 20.3% of the participants are obese. It was observed that 33.9% of our participants were inactive and 19.3% were very active. The mean total score of SBITO is 77.8±11.6, which is high. It has been observed that those with high physical activity levels have lower BMI and waist circumference. In our study, it was found that obese people eat more positively than normal weight people. As BMI increased, nutritional knowledge decreased and SBITO scores increased. In summary, in our study, we found that obese individuals eat more positively and have lower levels of physical activity. Family physicians are in an important position in terms of physical activity and nutritional behaviors. In family medicine, we can use our skills and experience in the light of up-to-date information in improving the health of our population. Physical activity and nutrition counseling is a very important and cost-effective application not only in the prevention and treatment of obesity, but also in maintaining the well-being of healthy people. Keywords: Obesity, healthy eating, physical activity
