dc.description.abstractEvrenselleşmiş bir olgu haline gelen kadına yönelik şiddet cinsiyet eşitsizliğinin en acımasız örneğidir ve toplumları derinden etkilemektedir. Türkiye'de kadına yönelik şiddet olayları özellikle son yıllarda önemli ölçüde artış göstermiş ve bunun sonucunda kadına yönelik şiddet sosyal yaşamda önlem alınması gereken önemli bir sorun haline dönüşmüştür. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu’nun 2008 yılında yayınladığı Türkiye’de Kadına Yönelik Aile İçi Şiddet Araştırması ham verileri kullanılarak lojistik regresyon analizi ile Türkiye’de kadına yönelik şiddetin belirleyicilerinin neler olduğu araştırılmıştır. Analiz sonuçları, kadına yönelik şiddetin temel belirleyicilerinin kadının sosyo-ekonomik ve psikolojik durumu ile şiddeti algılama ve yorumlama biçimine bağlı olduğu sonucunu ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Buna bağlı olarak kadına yönelik şiddetin önüne geçilmesinde, toplumda daha fazla farkındalık oluşturulması gerekmektedir.
dc.description.abstractViolence against women, which has become a universal phenomenon, is the most brutal example of gender inequality and deeply affects societies. Violence against women has significantly raised recently and hence it becomes the most important problem that needs to be taken in social life. In this study, it is examined that the determinants of violence against women in Turkey using logistic regression analysis based upon the data obtained from Turkish Domestic Violence Survey on Women in Turkey that is provided by Turkish Statistical Institute. The results of analysis reveal that the determinants of violence against women depend largely on the socio-economic and psychological statuses of women. Therefore, more awareness needs to be done created in social life to prevent violence against women in advance.
