Özet
While the built environment has measurable qualities with its dimensions, the concept of scale can be defined as the determinant of the communication between people and space. Scale is possible by evaluating an object through another object. Therefore, considering spaces with people rather than their mere qualities is an approach that evolves the concept of size into the concept of scale. Space and human are the two main concepts in dealing with the concept of scale. Spaces that take on their real meaning only with their users cannot be considered independently of their users; This is why human perception in space is important in order to understand the humanspace communication model. Cities and their open public spaces, on the other hand, are frequently the subject of research in the context of scale, as the spaces most exposed to human beings. Urban spaces that people perceive by using their bodies are considered as human scale in the city, and it is the subject of research of various disciplines, from macro level such as city- regional planning to micro spaces that people create with their bodies. Within the scope of this review, the macro- micro relationship between the city and the human has been evaluated through the concept of scale, within the scope of the city’s open public spaces. © 2023 Peter Lang GmbH, Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften.
