Özet
Objective: Death Anxiety in Patients with Hypertension and ST-Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction and the Affecting Factors Materials and Methods: This study was conducted be- tween February and March 2022, with 195 patients with hypertension, ST-Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction and healthy individuals. Patients who were admitted to the city hospital’s cardiology outpatient clinic and were fol- lowed up in the outpatient clinic with the diagnosis of hypertension and ST-Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarc- tion for the last one year were included in the study. The research data were collected using a Patient Information Form and the \"Abdel Khalek Death Anxiety Scale\". Results: The mean death anxiety scale score was 46.38±16.72 in hypertension patients, 38.27±12.84 in patients with ST-Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction, and 48.93±16.83 in healthy individuals. A significant difference was found between the death anxiety scores of patients with hypertension compared to patients with ST- Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction (p=0.007). Death anxiety scores of the groups were found to be correlated with some sociodemographic characteristics (p<0.05). Conclusions: It was determined that death anxiety was significantly higher in hypertension patients compared to ST-Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction patients.
