Özet
Language is one of the oldest phenomena in human history. What language is and how it works has been a subject of curiosity throughout human history, and studies on this subject have continued both indirectly and directly until today. These studies have also encountered a number of problems throughout the process. While some of the problems have been solved, others still await solutions. In this context when we look at the studies on the Turkish language one of the problems of studies is the secondary postposition category, which is used like a postposition but is not actually a postposition, it has many question marks about which lexical category it should be evaluated under has been discussed quite frequently has been tried to be explained with different expressions, but that has not been met with an acceptable concept area and term so far. This study consists of three parts. In the first part, the general problems of linguistic historical studies are emphasized. In the second part, the categories of postpositions and secondary postpositions are evaluated within the framework of grammaticalization. In the third part, the use of secondary prepositions is examined in Kutadgu Bilig, which is one of the most important works in the history of the Turkish language, according to this the secondary postpositions uses of adin, basa, naru, oza, okşag, ön, teg, utru units were determined. © 2023 Hacettepe University 1.
