dc.description.abstractUnemployment, which is one of the most critical problems, experienced by university graduates today, causes people to have various individual and social problems and argue about whether having a university education creates an advantage or disadvantage for them. This study aimed to examine the unemployment phenomenon among new graduates from the university by receiving their oral and written consent. In the semi-structured interview form which was prepared earlier; 6 female and 6 male graduates from engineering, social sciences, foreign languages and health sciences programs were directed to a total of 12 participants and the answers obtained were examined by qualitative research methods. The data analysis process in the research consists of two stages. In the first stage, a word cloud analysis was performed by determining the frequency of the words used by the interviewees in their answers related to the topic. And then, in the second stage, a comparative content analysis was conducted by coding the views of higher education graduates on unemployment problems. The results revealed that new graduates were not accepted into working life because of their inexperience and inability. Furthermore, most of the participants suggested that holding a university degree poses a significant disadvantage since universities cannot make their students gain the qualifications required in the labour market, despite the time spent in education and education costs. In conclusion, new graduates face various problems such as domestic unrest, future anxiety, feeling inadequacy and worthless, mental weariness and exclusion from society, as well as economic challenges resulting from unemployment.
dc.description.abstractGünümüzde üniversite mezunlarının yaşamış olduğu en önemli problemlerden biri olan işsizlik, kişilerin çeşitli bireysel ve sosyal sorunlar yaşamalarına ve üniversite eğitimi almış olmanın onlar üzerinde bir avantaj mı yoksa dezavantaj mı yarattığı konusunda tartışmalara neden olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada araştırma yapılacak kişilerin sözlü ve yazılı rızaları alınarak, üniversite mezunları üzerindeki işsizlik olgusu incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada daha önceden hazırlanmış yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu; mühendislik, sosyal bilimler, yabancı diller ve sağlık bilimleri eğitim programlarından mezun olmuş 6 kadın, 6 erkek toplamda 12 katılımcıya yöneltilmiş ve elde edilen cevaplar nitel araştırma yöntemleri ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmada veri analiz süreci iki aşamadan oluşmaktadır. İlk aşamada görüşmecilerin vermiş oldukları cevaplarda konuya ilişkin kullandıkları kelimelerin sıklığı saptanarak bir kelime bulutu analizi yapılmıştır. Daha sonra, ikinci aşamada ise, yükseköğretim mezunlarının işsizlik problemlerine ilişkin görüşleri kodlanarak karşılaştırmalı bir içerik analizi yapılmıştır. Sonuçlar üniversite mezunlarının tecrübesizlikleri ve yetersizlikleri öne sürülerek iş hayatına alınmadıklarını ortaya koymaktadır. Diğer taraftan katılımcıların çoğu, eğitimde harcanan zaman ve eğitim maliyetlerine rağmen üniversitelerin öğrencilerine işgücü piyasasında gerekli nitelikleri kazandıramadıkları için üniversite mezunu olmanın önemli bir dezavantaj oluşturduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Sonuç olarak, yeni mezunların işsizliğin yol açtığı maddi zorluklar dışında, aile içi huzursuzluk, gelecek kaygısı, kendini yetersiz ve değersiz hissetme, mental olarak yıpranmışlık ve giderek toplumdan dışlandıkları konusunda çeşitli problemlerle karşılaştıkları tespit edilmiştir.
