Öğe The Effect of Care Needs on Quality of Life and Chronic Disease Care in Patients with Diabetes(2020) Zuhur, Şenay; Özpancar, NurhanAim: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of care needs on quality of life and chronic disease care in patients with type-2 diabetes. Methods:A cross-sectional and descriptive study. One hundred forty-five patients with type-2 diabetes who were followed-up between January 2016 and January 2017in the university hospital were included in the study. The "Patient Presentation and Care Management Evaluation Form", "Quality of Life Assessment Scale(EQ-5D-5L)" and "Chronic Illness Care Assessment Scale-Patient Form (PACIC)" were used for the collection of data. One-way ANOVA test, Tukey HDStest, independent two-sample t-test, Kruskal Wallis test, Mann Whitney U test and Pearson correlation analysis were used for the evaluation of data. Results: In this study, the average total PACIC score of patients with type-2 diabetes was found to be satisfactory (3.78±0.79). However, the EQ-5D-5Laverage score was found to be close to perfect (0.84±0.17). A positive correlation was found between EQ-5D-5L scores and PACIC decision support andgoal setting/guidance sub-scale scores, and a negative correlation was found between positive EQ-5D-5L score and body mass index and HbA1c values. Asignificant correlation was also found between current diabetes treatment compliance and the EQ-5D-5L general health score and PACIC total score. ThePACIC decision support and goal setting/guidance sub-scales were found to be significantly different based on the diabetes education status of patients withtype-2 diabetes. Conclusions: Planning health education and counseling programs for general care adjustment are recommended for chronic diseasemanagement of diabetes.Öğe The use of nursing models in the management of chronic diseases in Turkey: A systematic review(Hemşirelikte Araştırma Geliştirme Derneği, 2017) Zuhur, Şenay; Özpancar, NurhanObjective: The purpose of this systematic compilation is to systematically examine the researches who based on theories and models in chronic disease management of nurses in Turkey. Methods: In the this descriptor planned study; the key words of "Turkey, theory, model, nursing and chronic disease management" and the archives of 11 nursing magazines regularly published in our country, edited and accessible online are included in the PubMed database and the keywords of "nurse, model, theory, theory, chronic disease management" in the Turkish Medline, Ulakbim and National Thesis Screening databases were nursing studies published between years 2005-2015 were analysed. Results: As a result of the examination, 17 doctorate thesis, 17 master thesis studies, 12 case reports and 10 research articles work carried out based on theories / models in chronic disease management by nurses between 2005 and 2015 in Turkey were counted and totalled up to 56 studies. The most commonly used nursing theories / models were the Orem's Self-Care Deficit Theory 39.3% , the Roy’s Adaptation Model 17.9% , the Neuman's Systems Model 10.7% , the Pender's Health Improvement Model 8.9 % , Roper, Logan, Tierney's Nursing Model 7.1%, Case Management Model 7.1 % , the Watson’s Human Care Model 3.6% , the Health Belief Model 3.6% and Gordon’s Health Patterns of Patterns 1.8% . Conclusions: As a result, nursing theories and models are important for nursing applications and research because of their positive contribution in the treatment of chronic diseases. However, studies conducted by nurses in our country have shown that the use of theory and models in chronic disease management was limitedÖğe Türkiye'de kronik hastalık yönetiminde hemşirelik modellerinin kullanımı: sistematik derleme(2017) Zuhur, Şenay; Özpancar, NurhanAmaç: Bu sistematik derlemenin amacı; Türkiye'de hemşireler tarafından yapılan kronik hastalık yönetiminde kuram ve modele dayalı araştırmaların sistematik olarak incelenmesidir.
