Öğe Landscape Architecture-Anthropometry Relationship: The Case of Istanbul(Univ Namik Kemal, 2009) Kartay, A.; Korkut, A. B.Landscape architecture which is a discipline of ecological data based physical planning aims functional and aesthetical space design fitting for human activities and needs in cities. In Landscaping, ergonomic, anthropometry studies which have much in common, the aim is to perform studies to improve the physical space design at a maximum level in terms of comfort, health and safety. All environments and accessories used by people must comply with anthropometric data and, accordingly, it must be ensured that people move free from any dangers and comfortably in any environment, improving of the life quality must be the principle aim (Yoruk et al., 2006). In this respect, it is of high importance that landscaping components and accessories used within the city are designed in accordance with the anthropometric measurements. This study is conducted on the Istanbul example in order to determine the conformity of landscaping elements widely used in our cities to anthropometric data. Therefore, regions of wide use in Istanbul are selected as research zones, current structural and plantal applications are examined in accordance with anthropometric data. According to the acquired data, along with the designs and applications fit to human use, those that are not fit to these measurements and especially disadvantageous in terms of safety are detected and suggestions are presented thereto.Öğe Namik Kemal University Establishment of Campus Information System(Univ Namik Kemal, 2009) Ozyavuz, M.; Sisman, E. E.; Korkut, A. B.Today, in general, it can be clearly seen that, the GIS are being used in every branches an in universities to carry out the institutional activities. Especially, there are some problems that putting and getting existed data orderly in developing universities. In this study, it was targeted to prepare Campus Information System of the Namik Kemal University. In this context, the physical components (building, ways, green areas, sports areas, park areas, plant material) of the Namik Kemal University were digitized and also database was created by using ArcGIS 9.0 software programme. While this digitizing is making, It used existing plans, dimension of land, Google Earth Satellite. These data were made using sample queries.Öğe The Aplication of a Method in Determining Coast Line Recreation Potential: Case of the Center District of Tekirdag(Univ Namik Kemal, 2009) Simsek, D. S.; Korkut, A. B.The province of Tekirdag, due to its geographical setting, is situated in a place of transition connecting our country to Europe. The coastal zone of Tekirdag, which attracts attention with its natural, cultural and historical riches, has a very intensive use. Today, as a result of rapid urbanization, industrialization and increasing population densities, open and green areas functioning as the lungs of cities are decreasing every day and consequently biological order is changing, the balance between structured areas and natural surrounding is deteriorating and the various use of coastline is changing. The coastline plays an important role in satisfying the need of the population of the administrative center of Tekirdag for open areas and in providing the users with their recreational needs within their daily life. In this study, the aim has been to examine the present situation of the coastline of the center district of Tekirdag, which has an important function in terms of urban open and green areas, to present the recreational potential use of the area by the way of an application method and to provide sustainability of natural and cultural sources and the precautions to be taken. Through research, Tekirdag coastline were found to be 65% of the recreation potential. Accordingly, the recreation potential of this area the high was considered to be.Öğe Trakya Üniversitesi Güllapoğlu Arboretumu peyzaj planlama(2008) Özyavuz, M.; Korkut, A. B.Bu çalışma Edirne İli, Trakya Üniversitesi Güllapoğlu Yerleşkesi içinde tesis edilecek olan arboretumun planlama ilkelerini belirlemek ve öneri bir peyzaj projesi sunmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla, öncelikle arboretum kavramı, işlevleri, planlama ve uygulama kriterleri, Dünyadaki ve Türkiye’deki özel ve kamu kuruşlarına ait arboretumların özellikleri araştırılmıştır. T.Ü. Güllapoğlu Arboretumunun bulunduğu Edirne İli’nin sosyo-kültürel özellikleri araştırılmış ve bu arboretumun kurulmasını gerekli kılan nedenler belirlenmiştir. Daha sonra çalışma alanında gözlem, inceleme ve veri toplama işlemleri yapılmış, elde edilen veriler değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Tüm verilerin ışığında, alana ilişkin öneri peyzaj projesi hazırlanmıştır.Öğe Trakya University Gullapoglu Arboretum Landscape Planning Studies(Univ Namik Kemal, 2008) Ozyavuz, M.; Korkut, A. B.The aim of this study is to determine the planning rules of the arboretum to be established in Trakya University Gullapoglu Campus and propose landscape plan. In this study, several researches are made on Trakya University Gullapoglu Arboretum in Trakya University Campus in Edirne. First of all the concept of Arboretum, functions, planning and application criteria and the properties of arboretums in Turkey and other countries are studied. The socio-economical structure of Edirne where Gullapoglu arboretum will be established is studied and the establishg reasons of arboretum in Edirne were determined. Afterwords the natural properties [slop, soil, flora] of the arboretum are collected and the results are analysed.
