Hz. Peygamber’in Cinlerle Görüşmesine Dair İhtilaflı Rivayetlerin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Melek ve insan dışında üçüncü bir varlık türü olarak kabul edilen cinler hakkında eski ve yeni, Müslüman ve gayrimüslimler tarafından birçok müs-takil çalışma yapılmıştır. İlgili eserlerde kısaca cinlerin mahiyeti ve özellikleri, çeşitli din ve kültürlerdeki cin inançları ve cinlerin insanlarla ilişkileri üzerin-de durulmuştur. İslam'ın temel kaynağı olan Kur’an-ı Kerîm’de el-Cin/72 adıyla müstakil bir sûrenin bulunmasının yanısıra birçok sûrede çeşitli ayet-lerde cinler hakkında bilgiler verilmektedir. Hadislerde de cinlere dair çeşitli bilgiler bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan biri de Hz. Peygamber’in cinlerle görüşüp görüşmediği hususudur. Konuyla ilgili rivayetler incelendiğinde hem birbi-riyle hem de Kur’an’la çelişik gibi görünen sahih hadisler mevcuttur. Söz ko-nusu rivayetler arasındaki çelişkileri gidermek ve konuyu açıklığa kavuştur-mak amacıyla bu çalışmamızda ilgili rivayetleri inceleyip değerlendirdik. Hz. Peygamber’in cinlerle görüşüp görüşmediği hususu genelde İbn Mes‘ûd ve İbn Abbas’tan gelen rivayetler çerçevesinde ele alınmaktadır. İbn Mes‘ûd’dan nakledilen hadisler Hz. Peygamber’in cinlerle görüştüğünü ifade ederken İbn Abbas’tan nakledilen bir rivayet görüşmediğini ifade etmektedir. Çalışma-mızda, her iki sahabiden nakledilen rivayetleri, diğer sahabilerden de nakledi-len rivayetlerle birlikte ve Kur’ân’ın nuzül sürecini de dikkate alarak değer-lendirdik. Netice itibariyle İbn Mes‘ûd’dan nakledildiği üzere Hz. Peygam-ber’in cinlerle görüştüğü, İbn Abbas’tan nakledilen ve görüşmediğini ifade eden rivayetin ise İslam’ın ilk yıllarıyla ilişkili olduğu sonucuna vardık.

The Jinn, which is regarded as the third kind of entity apart from the an-gel and the human being, has been the subject matter of several separate works written by both Muslims and non-Muslims in the past and present. In short, such works deal with the nature of jinns and their characteristics, and they cover matters such as the beliefs about jinns in several religions and cul-tures and their relationship with human beings. Apart from the fact that the primary source of Islam, namely, the Quran, has a separate chapter called al-Jinn (The Jinn) /72, it provides information about jinns in many verses in sev-eral other chapters. Traditions also provide plenty of information about jinns. One example of such information is on the question whether the Holy Prophet have met with jinns. A study of the traditions on this matter reveals the fact that there are ?a??? (authentic) traditions that appear to be in conflict with each other and/or with some of the verses in the Quran. In this paper, we have analyzed and evaluated the relevant traditions in order to reconcile these con-tradictions, thus we aimed to clarify the matter. The question on whether the Holy Prophet met with jinns is often discussed within the context of narra-tions coming from Ibn al-Mas??d and Ibn ?Abb?s. While the traditions coming from Ibn al-Mas??d indicate that the Prophet met with jinns, a tradition nar-rated by Ibn ?Abb?s says the opposite. In the present work, we have analyzed the outwardly conflicting traditions narrated by both companions along with traditions narrated by other companions on this matter in the light of the chronology of the revelation of the Quran. As a result, we have concluded that the Holy Prophet have met with jinns as narrated by Ibn al-Mas??d and that the report narrated by Ibn ?Abb?s was about the first years of Islam.
