Peyzaj mimarlığı antropometri ilişkisi: İstanbul örneği

Abstract

Peyzaj Mimarlığı, insanlar için kentsel ve kırsal alanlarda, yaşanılabilir güzel çevrelerin oluşumunun sağlandığı, koruma- kullanma dengesi gözetilerek ekolojik, ekonomik, işlevsel ve estetik ilkeler dikkate alınarak yapılan; planlama, tasarım, onarım ve koruma ile ilgili bir bilim ve sanat dalıdır. İnsan ile uyumlu mekanların ve donatıların tasarımında, insan ölçüleri göz önüne alınmalıdır. Bu noktada, insan vücudunun boyutlarıyla ilgilenen “antropometri” bilimi devreye girmektedir. Antropometri bilimi, insanlar için uygun tasarımların yapılmasına olanak sağlar. Bu açıdan antropometrik veriler önem kazanmaktadır. Bu tez kapsamında, antropometri kavramı açıklanarak, Peyzaj Mimarlığı-antropometri ilişkisi ve antropometrik standartlar üzerinde durulmuştur. Araştırma konusunun temelini oluşturan, bazı peyzaj elemanlarına ait standart ölçüler ve özellikler, çeşitli kaynaklara göre detaylı bir şekilde incelenerek, kent ile kent insanı için antropometrik verilerin gerekliliği ortaya konulmuştur. Bu araştırma alanı ile doğrudan ilgili bir araştırmaya rastlanmamıştır. Bu da çalışmanın önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmada, “özellikle büyük şehirlerimizdeki bazı peyzaj elemanlarının, kentte yaşayan ve bunlardan yararlanan insanlara yönelik olarak, antropometrik açıdan uygunluk sağlayıp sağlamadığı” sorusundan yola çıkılarak, bunun tespiti ve ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında, İstanbul kentinin yoğun kullanım mekanları inceleme alanı olarak seçilmiş, antropometrik veriler doğrultusunda mevcut uygulamalar irdelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler ışığında, bazı yapısal ve bitkisel elemanların, antropometrik ölçülere uygun olmadığı gözlenmiş bu doğrultuda öneriler sunulmuştur.

Landscape Architecture is a branch of science and art related with planning, design, maintenance, and conservation, being performed by taking conservation-utilization level, as well as ecological, economical, functional, and aesthetical principles into consideration, in order to develop beautiful habitable environments in both urban areas, and in countryside. In designing locations and fittings coherent with human beings, the sizes of human beings should be taken into consideration. At this point, the science of “anthropometry”, interested in the human body size, steps in. While the science of anthropometry allows for the development of designs coherent with human beings, anthropometric data tend to gain importance accordingly. Upon defining the concept of anthropometry within the scope of this thesis, the anthropometric standards, as well as the relationship between Landscape Architecture and anthropometry, have been emphasized. Having the standard measurements and features regarding some of the landscape elements, forming the basis of the research, examined in detail, the necessity of the anthropometric data for cities, and urban people has been put forth. No research in direct relation with the subject matter of this research has been come across. This is another aspect revealing the importance of this study. Starting off from the question whether “some of the landscape elements, especially in our major cities, do provide any coherence in terms of anthropometry, to the habitants of the said cities making use of these elements”, it is aimed to identify, and then put this issue forth. Within the scope of the research, densely utilized locations of use of the city of İstanbul have been selected as the field of survey, and current applications have been examined in line with anthropometric measures. In view of the obtained data, some of the structural and vegetal elements have been observed to be incoherent with anthropometric measures, and suggestions have been submitted accordingly.
