PEYAMİ SAFA’NIN DOKUZUNCU HARİCİYE KOĞUŞU’NDA İNSAN ARZUSUNUN ÖYKÜNMECİ GÖRÜNÜMLERİ

Abstract

1961 yılında Fransa’da yayımlanan Romantik Yalan ve Romansal Hakikat adlı yapıt yazın dünyasında geniş bir yankı ve tepki uyandırır. Kuramsal düzlemde Friedrisch Nietzsche, Max Scheler, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel gibi düşünürlerin yapıtlarından hareketle ressentiment kavramı temelinde oluşturduğu kuramıyla Girard, yapıtında insan arzusunun bir nesneye hangi koşullarda yöneldiğini, Cervantes, Stendhal, Marcel Proust, Gustave Flaubert ve Fyodor Dostoyevski gibi büyük romancıların yapıtları üzerinden derinlemesine inceler. Arzu olgusunda özne-nesne eksenine dolayımlayıcı değişkenini de eklemleyerek üçgen arzu adını verdiği mimetik kuramını oluşturur. Söz konusu kuram bir yandan arzuda nesnenin rolünü hiçe indirgerken, öte yandan dolayımlayıcıyı üçgenin başköşesine oturtur. Buna göre; öznede, nesneye yönelik arzunun oluşması için aynı nesneyi arzulayan veya zaten ona iye olan bir ötekinin (dolayımlayıcı) varlığına her zaman gereksinim vardır. Bu durumda arzuyu kışkırtan ve onu doğuran, saymaca bir değeri olan nesnenin kendisi değil, aynı nesne odağında yarışılan kişidir. Böylece Girard şu sonuca varır: nesneye yönelmiş arzu, asla öznenin kendisinden kaynaklı değildir, hep başkasından kopya edilir. Bu çarpıcı sonuç insanın en büyük yanılsamasına, arzusunun kendiliğinden oluştuğu yalanına parmak bastığı içindir ki, yazın çevrelerinde soğuk ve sakınımlı bir yankı bulur. Biz bu çalışmada Girard’ın mimetik kuramından hareketle, Türk yazınının önemli yapıtlarından Dokuzuncu Hariciye Koğuşu adlı romanı incelemeyi amaçlıyoruz. Bu doğrultuda söz konusu romana, Girard kuramındaki görüngülerin nasıl ve ne ölçüde yansıdığını irdeleyerek, yapıtın romantik-romansal karşıtlığının hangi ekseninde yer aldığı belirlemeye çalışacağız.

The work called “Deceit, Desire, and the Novel” which was published in France in 1961 has repercussions and creates reactions in the literary world. Starting from the works of philosophers such as Nietzsche, Scheler and Hegel in the theoretical framework, Girard with his theory that was formed on the basis of “ressentiment” concept examines thoroughly the conditions that the human desire heads for an object on the works of great novelists such as Cervantes, Stendhal, Proust, Flaubert and Dostoyevsky in his work of art. Adding the “mediator” variable to the subject-object axis in the phenomenon of desire, he generates mimetic theory which he called as triangle of the desire. On the one hand, the theory mentioned cancels out the role of object in desire; on the other hand it places “the mediator” to the center of the triangle. According to this, there is always a need for the presence of the other (mediator) being already a proprietor to it or desiring the same object so as to form the desire towards the object in the subject. In this case, it is the person competed for in the focus of the same object, not the object itself that has a par value provoking the desire and bringing about. Thus, Girard concludes as: The desire towards the object never stems from the object itself. It is always duplicated from the other. Because this striking result draws attention to, the greatest illusion of human, the lie that desire occurs by itself, it has a cold and prejudicial repercussion in the literary world. In this study, we aim to examine Ninth External Ward, which is one of the significant works of Turkish literature with reference to Girard’s mimetic theory. In this context, we will try to identify in which axis of romantic- novelistic contrast the novel take place by exploring how and to what extent the phenomena in the theory of Girard reflect on the novel in question.
