TOPLUMSAL (ÖZ)YAŞAMÖYKÜSEL BİR ROMAN ÖRNEĞİ: BABAM

Abstract

Babam özgün adıyla La Place çağdaş Fransız kadın yazar ve edebiyat öğretmeni Annie Ernaux’nun 1984 yılında, Fransa’da Renaudot edebiyat ödülünü aldığı, özyaşam öyküsel, yaşam öyküsel ve toplumbilimsel (auto socio-biografique) roman türüne ait genel özelliklere sahip örnek bir Fransız romanıdır.Yapıtta Annie Ernaux olduğu anlaşılan anlatıcı-kadın kahraman (narratrice-héroïne) tarafından sunulan anlatının egemen öznesi ben (je) ile romanın konusunu oluşturan anlatıcı-kadın kahramanın babasını simgeleyen o (il) öznesinin yaşam öykülerinin yalın bir dil kullanımı ve net ifadelerle gerçekçi bir havada okura aktarıldığı görülür. Anlatıdaki bu yalınlık ve netlik özyaşam öyküsünü ve babasının yaşam öyküsünü okurla paylaşmakta olan anlatıcı-kadın kahramanın anlatı boyunca olayları tarafsız, değiştirmeden ve oldukları gibi aktardığının göstergesidir. Bir yandan sürekli tekrarlanan kentsoylu-işçi, kültürlü kültürsüz, görgülü-görgüsüz varsıl-yoksul zıtlıkları, öte yandan yabancılaşma, aşağılanma duygusu, bireyin kendine olan güven kaybı, toplumsal sınıf aidiyeti, kuşak çatışması, ergenlik ve olgunluk dönemleri ile olayın geçtiği dönem ve uzamlarda yaşayan Fransız toplumunun içinde bulunduğu duruma ilişkin yoğun anlatımlar romana toplumbilimsel bir boyut kazandırır. Bu makalede, Bireysel Ruhbilim ekolünün kurucusu Alfred Adler ile toplumbilimciler Martin Slattery ve Pierre Bourdieu’nün temel kuramlarının yanı sıra Yapısalcı Eleştiri kuramının ışığında, ele alınan romanın yazınsal olarak çözümlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.

My Father, in its original name La Place, is a good example for French novel possessing general features of an “auto-socio-biographic” type of novel which is autobiographical, biographical and sociological. It is worth noting that it was written by a contemporary French woman writer and a literature teacher, Annie Ernaux who was awarded the Renaudot Literature Prize in France, in 1984. It was clearly seen in the novel that Annie Ernaux who turns out to be narrator heroine “narratice héroine” reflects the story realistically in a plain language with clear expressions and she also reflects I “je” the dominant character as herself and he “il” symbolizing the father of the narrator heroine. The plainness and clearness in her narration indicate that the narrator heroine, who shares her autobiography and her father’s biography with the readers, narrates the events objectively, without changing and as they are. On the one hand, continuously repetitive contrasts between bourgeois and labour, sophisticated and uncultured, well-mannered and ill-mannered, wealthy and poor occur, on the other hand; alienation, inferiority complex, loss of self-confidence, the state of belonging to a social class, conflict of generations, puberty and maturity periods and the intense narrations related with the social situation of French society living in that time and space in which the events took place, provide a sociological perspective to the novel. In this article it is aimed to make a literary analysis in the light of Structuralist Criticism theories together with the basic theories of Alfred Adler who is the founder of the Individual Psychology and the sociologists Martin Slattery and Pierre Bourdieu.
