Ecophysiological responses to stresses in plants: A general approach
Özet
Stress (abiotic and biotic) factors reflect and specify the plant morphology and called as "stress" and have negative effect(s) on growth, development, quality, quantity and can reduce average plant productivity by 65 to 87%, depending on the plants and stage(s) and also give various permanent or temporary damage(s) according to length of exposed period, violence/density, developmental stage, age, etc. Researches have revealed that despite the advanced technology levels the fundamental basis of stress have not been understood comprehensively. Firstly taken response(s) has/have not yet fully understood and secondly any "resistance" or "tolerance level of a variety/species" because of their complex structure(s). But, this point is clear that with the help or assistance of "multi-disciplinary" approaches, it will be able to get promising result(s) in near future. This review focuses some of the ecophysiological responses of plants to biotic and abiotic stresses. © 2012 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

Genetic and methylome variation in Turkish brachypodium distachyon accessions differentiate two geographically distinct subpopulations
Skalska, Aleksandra; Stritt, Cristoph; Wyler, Michele; Williams, Hefin W.; Vickers, Martin; Han, Jiwan; Mur, Luis A.J; Tuna, Metin (MDPI AG, 2020)Brachypodium distachyon (Brachypodium) is a non-domesticated model grass species that can be used to test if variation in genetic sequence or methylation are linked to environmental differences. To assess this, we collected ... -
Increasing concentrations of iron fertilizer affect antibacterial activity of basil (Ocimum basilicum L.)
Gürgan, Muazzez; Adiloğlu, Sevinç (Elsevier B.V., 2021)The fertilizer utilization in agriculture may affect the properties of the cultivars which can harm metabolism and affect the health benefits of plants. Medicinal aromatic plants are subject to a great area of utilization ... -
Soil Application of Cellulolytic Microbe-Enriched Vermicompost Modulated the Morpho-physiological and Biochemical Responses of Wheat Cultivars Under Different Moisture Regimes
Ahmad, Ali; Aslam, Zubair; Bellitürk, Korkmaz; Hussain, Saddam; Bibi, Irshad (Springer Int Publ Ag, 2022)Wheat, being a major cereal crop, is negatively influenced by drought. The use of vermicompost may help wheat to tolerate the negative effects of drought stress. The present study investigated the effects of cellulolytic ...
