Sağlık harcamaları ve ekonomik kalkınma: OECD ülkeleri için bir değerlendirme

Abstract

Ekonomik kalkınma ve sağlık kavramları birbirini etkileyen iki önemli kavramdır. Bireylerin ve ulusun kalkınabilmesi için sağlık kavramı büyük önem teşkil etmektedir. Sağlıklı bir topluma sahip olmak ekonomik kalkınma açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Sağlık kavramına önem veren ülkelerin ekonomik göstergeleri de olumlu yönde etkilenmektedir. Sağlığa yapılan harcamalardaki artış ve ekonomik kalkınma hususunda beşeri sermayenin ön plana çıkması sağlık sektörünün ekonomideki önemini göstermiştir. Bu araştırmada, OECD ülkelerine ait sağlık harcamaları ile ekonomik kalkınma arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi amacıyla karşılaştırma ve değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Çalışma neticesinde sağlık harcamalarının ekonomik büyüme ve kalkınmaya olumlu etkiler sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The concepts of economic development and health are two important concepts that affect each other. The concept of health is of great importance for the development of individuals and the nation. Having a healthy society is of great importance in terms of economic development. The economic indicators of the countries that attach importance to the concept of health are also positively affected. The increase in spending on health and the prominence of human capital in economic development have shown the importance of the health sector in the economy. In this research, comparison and evaluation were made in order to determine the relationship between health expenditures and economic development of OECD countries. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that health expenditures have positive effects on economic growth and development.
