Determining the Relationships Between Harvest Moisture Content and Maximum Head Rice Yield That Caused To Be Obtained Maximum Head Rice Yield After Drying With Machine

Abstract

Rice has to be dried after harvest. For that reason, drying machines which dry with hot weather are used to dry rice. Because of drying, cracks become on the rice and head rice yield decreases. In this research, experiments were carried out to find relationships between harvest moisture and maximum head rice yield by using Osmancik and Baldo varieties which are mostly planted by rice farmers to get maximum head rice yield. Rice samples which have different harvest moisture were dried to different moisture and maximum head rice yield was predicted after drying process. As a result, maximum head rice yield is relative with harvest moisture of rice. So, the most advisable harvest moisture to take maximum head rice yield is % 19-22 for Baldo variety and % 23-24 for Osmancik variety. In this research, average % 59,9 head rice yield was taken from Osmancik and %56,3 head rice yield was taken from Baldo.
