In urban areas where the environmental, cultural and socioeconomic pressure is increasing day by day, corruption of ecosystems is observed due to reduction of green areas. Designs should be balanced in terms of nature, ecology and economy in order to ensure the sustainability of urban development and reflecting the ecological knowledge to the field use must be aimed. In this context, the importance of nature and design approach is increasing and the formation of habitats with natural species is being supported. Successful results in urban green areas can be achieved by a good analysis of biological and ecological characteristics of plant species. In this study, it is aimed to use the plants in the natural cover of Ganos Mountain and its close surroundings in urban designs, which are located in Tekirdag province and reflect the city's climate and ecological characteristics and these features are given in tables. The methodology of the study consists of analysis of the available data related to the field and the research subject, field studies and the analysis of the data obtained from these field studies. Forms are filled for each plant collected from the field and diagnosed, to provide information about their aesthetic and functional uses in designs. In terms of functional features; visual control (light control, shielding and highlighting), motion control, physical environment control (climate, noise, air pollution and erosion control) and spatial effects and in terms of aesthetic properties; design, size, shape, color and texture effects of the plants in designs were examined. The aim of this study is to enrich the ecology of the city which is under the pressure of rapid urbanization and industrialization. Implementing the knowledge obtained from this research in landscape planning, design and management is important to ensure sustainability in urban areas.en_US
