Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin Öğrenilmiş Güçlülük, Öz Yeterlilik ve Umut Düzeylerinin Değerlendirilmesi: Tekirdağ Örneği

Abstract

AMAÇ: Çalışma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin öğrenilmiş güçlülük, öz yeterlilik ve umut düzeylerini, etkileyen faktörleri ve birbirleriyle olan ilişkisini ortaya koymak amacıyla planlandı. YÖNTEM: Araştırma, tanımlayıcı tipte olup, 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde bir devlet üniversitesinin hemşirelik bölümünde okuyan 353 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirildi. Veriler, "Genel Bilgi Formu, Rosenbaum Öğrenilmiş Güçlülük Ölçeği (RÖGÖ), Genellenmiş Özyetkinlik Beklentisi Ölçeği (GÖBÖ) ve Sürekli Umut Ölçeği (SUÖ)" kullanılarak toplandı. Araştırma verileri, tanımlayıcı ve karşılaştırmalı analizler kullanılarak değerlendirildi. Ölçekler arası ilişki korelasyon analizi ile belirlendi. BULGULAR: Öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 20,87±1,88 idi. Öğrencilerin RÖGÖ puan ortalaması 126,44±16,50, GÖBÖ puan ortalaması 28,58±5,79 ve SUÖ puan ortalaması ise 25,21±3,27 idi. Travmatik bir olay yaşadığını belirten öğrencilerin RÖGÖ, GÖBÖ ve SUÖ puan ortalamaları diğer öğrencilere göre anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu (p<0,05). Ailesinde şiddetli kavga, tartışma yaşamadığını belirten öğrencilerin RÖGÖ ve GÖBÖ puan ortalamaları diğer öğrencilere göre anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu (p<0,05). Ölçekler arasındaki ilişki incelendiğinde SUÖ ile RÖGÖ ve GÖBÖ arasında pozitif yönde orta düzeyde, RÖGÖ ve GÖBÖ arasında ise pozitif yönde zayıf düzeyde ilişki saptandı. SONUÇ: Çalışmanın sonucunda, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin travmatik olaylar ve aile içi şiddetli kavga ve tartışma deneyimlemelerinin özyeterlilik, umut ve öğrenilmiş güçlülük üzerinde önemli etkisi olduğu görüldü. Öğrencilerin öğrenilmiş güçlülük düzeyleri arttıkça umut ve özyeterliliklerinin de arttığı anlaşıldı.

AIM: This study was planned with the intention to reveal the factors effecting learned resourcefulness, self-efficacy and hope levels of nursing students, their interrelationships. METHODS: This descriptive research was realized with 353 students who were receiving education in the Department of Nursing of a state University in the spring semestre during the Academic Year of 2015-2016. Data were collected through General Information Form, Rosenbaum Learned Resourcefulness Scale (RLRS), General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE), and Dispositional Hope Scale (DHS) and evaluated using descriptive and comparative analysis. Interscale correlation was determined through correlation analysis.RESULTS: The mean age of nursing students was 20.87&plusmn;1.88 years. The mean scores of studernts were determined to be 126.44&plusmn;16.50, 28.58&plusmn;5.79, and 25.21&plusmn;3.27 for RLRS, GSE and DHS respectively. Mean scores of RLRS, GSE and DHS were found out to be significantly higher (p&lt;0.05) for those who have experienced a traumatic incident. The mean RLRS, GSE and DHS scores were determined to be significantly higher (p&lt;0.05) for students who have not experienced severe arguments and fights in their families. When the relationship among DHS, RLRS, and GSE was analysed, it was found out that there was a positively moderate level of relationship among them, whereas the relationship between RLRS and GSE was determined to be a positively low level relationship. CONCLUSION: The result of this study has revealed that experiencing traumatic incidents and severe intrafamily arguments and fights had a significant effect on learned resourcefulness, self-efficacy and hope levels of undergraduate nursing students. It was also found out that the higher their learned resourcefulness level was, the more their self-efficacy and hope levels increased.
