Yiğit, Şıhmehmet2022-05-112022-05-1120192322-3537https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11776/8042The purpose of the present research is studying the differences in self and aggression levels of athletes, who participated in Turkish Inter-schools Youth Weightlifting Championship held in Kayseri in 2017. Scanning method, which is a descriptive method, was adopted as the research method. The sample of the research consists of 180 male athletes. Data of the research were collected with personal information form developed by the researchers, AggressionInventory developed by Kiper (1984), and Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) developed by Rosenberg (1965) and adapted to Turkish by Cuhadaroglu (1986). Collected data were analysed on SPSS 22.0, and since the data distributed normally, parametric analysis methods were utilized One-way variance analysis was done to compare scale scores of athletes in terms the length of time they had done sports and the income of their family, independent samples t-test was done to compare scale scores in terms being in national team line-up. Significance level for analyses was taken as p<0.05. According to the findings obtained, self-esteem, destructive aggression, assertiveness and passive aggression levels of weight-lifters were at moderate level.
