The patient starts to experience fear of the unknown by the time he accepts to undergo a surgical procedure. Patient has an intense anxiety before, during and after the surgery. This causes patients to feel themselves vulnerable. Patient education, which is one of the professional nursing roles, plays a key role to improve the quality of care and relieve the patient.
