Remote sensing and GIS have become important tools to evaluate uncontrolled temporal changes in urban areas, because these techniques allow examination and management large amount of spatial and tabular data which would be impossible using manual interpretation. In this study, 2000 and 2010 Landsat TM satellite images and ancillary data were used to detect urban changes. Results showed that the city is expanding 6,3 percent annually. As a result of the classification and evaluation, it was determined that 580,57 ha. lands was converted to urban areas between the years 2000-2010.trinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessUrban improvementRemote SensingGeographic Information SystemUncontrolled classificiationExamination of Temporal Changes of Tekirdag City Center with Remote SensingArticle816573N/AWOS:000453150700007
