Özet
In this study, the possibility of using unground and ground rice hulls and their combinations with peat as media for cucumber seedling propagation was investigated. In the experiment, propagation media were as follows: (1) 100% unground rice hull (UGRH), (2) 100% ground rice hull (GRH), (3) 50% GRH + 50% peat (4) 25% UGRH + 75% peat, (5) 25% GRH + 75% peat, (6) 50% GRH + 50% peat (7) 25% coarse perlite + 75% peat (control). The best results in stem diameter, number of true leaves, length of seedling above the cotyledons leaves, length of leaves, width of leaves, length of root and length of seedling with root were obtained from 75% peat + 25% coarse perlite (control) media, while the seedlings grown in 25% UGRH + 75% peat media gave the highest value seedling width, seedling weight above cotyledons leaves, weight of root and weight of seedling with root. The seedlings grown in 100% UGRH gave the lowest values in all seedling properties except emergence percentage.
