dc.description.abstract | In this study, convenience of solidification / stabilization process for disposal and recycling of the red mud produced from Konya Seydisehir Aluminum Plant were examined. For this purpose physical and chemical properties of the red mud was primarily demonstrated. In order to solidification, mortar was produced with diffirent ratios of red mud by blending with cement The stabilization of solidified material was examined via leaching test According to the results of leaching test; landfilling of the solidified material was evaluated. It was found that leaching concentrations of solidified materials was lower than that of red mud. Furthermore, bending and compressive strength tests were carried out for the determination of whether solidified samples could be considered as construction materials. This study showed that red mud could be used as a construction material when the red mud was used with a blend ratio of 5% in the solidification/stabilization process for production of mortar. For these reasons, it was determined that the solidification/stabilization process completed successfully. | |
