dc.description.abstractObjective: This study was designed appropriate to qualitative descriptive method aiming to determine the feelings and thoughts on the causes of spontaneous abortion experienced by the nurses. Material and Methods: The sample of this study was formed of 19 nurses having experienced spontaneous abortion and living in Tekirdağ province. The data was collected through depth interviews carried out face to face by a researcher between March 01, 2013-May30, 2015. Data was collected through personal information forms filled in with occupational data and working experience of the nurses, and semi-structured interview forms. Opinions of nursing having experienced spontaneous abortion were given qualitatively. Results: In this study, it was determined that nurses having experienced spontaneous abortion were highly affected, and had the opinion that working conditions of the occupational environment as well as occupational risk factors were the reasons of their abortion. In some cases, it was determined that these risks were sources of anxiety and fear. In addition, it was determined that nurses were more careful in protection from occupational risks regarding the health of the fetus during pregnancy. Conclusion: Almost all nurses having experienced spontaneous abortion have the opinion that this pregnancy loss was mainly due to working features and occupational risks. It is essential that legal practice enter in force to protect pregnant employees under the guidance of solution offers during this period. © 2016 by Türkiye Klinikleri.
