Öğe Application of artificial neural network (ANN) for the prediction of thermal resistance of knitted fabrics at different moisture content(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2018) Kanat, Zehra Evrim; Özdil, NilgünThermal resistance of the fabrics is one of the decisive parameters in terms of comfort; however it can change due to wetting. Therefore, thermal resistance of wetted fabric is important for comfort performance of garments. In recent years, artificial neural networks (ANN) have been used in the textile field for classification, identification, prediction of properties and optimization problems. ANNs can predict the fabric thermal properties by considering the influence of all fabric parameters at the same time. In this study, ANNs were used to predict thermal resistance of wetted fabrics. For this aim, two different architectures were experienced and high regression coefficient (R-2) between the predicted (training and testing) and observed thermal resistance values were obtained from both models. The obtained regression coefficient values were over 90% for both models. Then it can be said that ANNs could be used for predicting thermal resistance of wetted fabrics successfully.Öğe Investigation of the usage possibility of copper cyclohexane monocarboxylate (copper naphthenate) as a textile dye(Inst Natl Cercetare-Dezvoltare Textile Pielarie-Bucuresti, 2012) Yıldız, Aylin; Atav, Rıza; Öztaş, Merve; Ağırgan, Ahmet Özgür; Kanat, Zehra EvrimIn this study, usage possibility of naphthenates, which is known as saturated hydrocarbons present in the chemical composition of grease obtained from the handling of petrol, as a dye in textile industry was investigated. For this aim, firstly the naphthenate copper complex (a dye containing metal) with blue color is obtained from the reaction of naphthenate acid and copper salt obtained from the side fraction of petrol. Chemical composition of this compound was analyzed by using spectrophotometric methods (IR, NMR and ESR). Furthermore, optimum conditions for solubility of synthesized dye were determined in the presence and absence of ultrasound. Then, dyeability of various fibers (cotton, wool, polyamide, polyester, polyacrylnitrile) with synthesized dye was determined. Finally, tests were performed in order to determine whether the dye has carcinogenic and/or allergy effect. According to the results, it was observed that there is no danger in this direction. According to the experimental results, it was determined that copper naphthenate compound can be used in dyeing of wool fibers.Öğe Nano partiküllü su iticilik maddeleriyle işlem görmüş pamuk ve polyester dokuma kumaşların karşılaştırılması(2008) Ağırgan, Ahmet Özgür; Kanat, Zehra Evrim; Özek, Hikmet ZiyaAkademik ve endüstriyel olarak, nanometre ölçeğinde üretim miktarında bir artış görülmektedir. Ayrıca günlük hayatta ve malzeme teknolojilerindeki ileri uygulamaların kullanım taleplerinde de büyüme söz konusu olmaktadır. Moleküler seviyedeki nano teknoloji, yüksek kopma mukavemeti, sağlamlık, yumuşak tutum, su iticilik, güç tutuşurluk, anti mikrobiyal özellikler gibi istenen tekstil karakteristiklerin geliştirilmesinde kullanılabilmektedir. Nano teknolojideki son gelişmeler, tekstil endüstrisinde büyük fırsatlar yaratmaktadır. Tekstil materyallerine hidrofobik karakter kazandırmak için yapılan işlemler birçok çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Diğer taraftan, nano partiküllü su itici materyallerle işlem görmüş kumaşların performanslarının değerlendirilmesi yeni bir konu olarak görülmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, su itici nano teknolojik bitim işlemlerinin araştırılması ve değerlendirilmesidir. Bu araştırmada ticari olarak kullanılan nano partiküllü su itici materyaller ile konvansiyonel su itici materyaller karşılaştırılmaktadır. Pamuk, polyester ve pamuk/polyester karışım kumaşlar kullanılmıştır. Numuneler iki farklı nano partiküllü kimyasal ile emdirildikten sonra termofiksaj işlemi yapılmıştır. Her tipte su iticilik maddesi ile işlem görmüş kumaşların yüzey özellikleri incelenmiştir. Kumaşların performanslarını ölçmek için sprey test cihazı ve hidrostatik test cihazı kullanılmış, ayrıca deneysel sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Deney sonuçları, nano partiküllü su iticilik maddeleriyle yapılan bitim işlemlerinin kumaşların su iticilik özelliklerini arttırdığını göstermektedir.Öğe Prediction of Thermal Resistance of the Knitted Fabrics in Wet State By Using Multiple Regression Analysis(Ege Univ, 2014) Kanat, Zehra Evrim; Özdil, Nilgün; Marmarali, ArzuThermal properties of fabric depend on fabric construction parameters such as fiber and yarn type, fabric thickness etc. and also moisture content present. As the moisture content of the fabrics increase thermal properties of the fabrics vary. Thermal resistance is one of the main parameters of thermal comfort of fabrics. Thermal resistance of fabric decreases as the fabric moisture content increases. In this study the thermal resistance of knitted fabrics produced from cotton, polyester, modal and acrylic fibers in different moisture content is predicted from construction parameters by using two different regression analyses. The findings show that specific heat of fiber, fiber density, fabric thickness and loop density are the most important factors for thermal resistance of the fabric and thermal resistance of the fabric in different moisture content can be predicted by using regression analysis successfully.Öğe Öğe The Effect of Different Connections in Double Layered Woven Fabrics on Comfort Properties(Korean Fiber Soc, 2012) Gürkan Ünal, Pelin; Özçelik Kayseri, Gonca; Kanat, Zehra EvrimWith the increasing demand of fabrics for special usage areas, more complex woven structures are designed and from the structural point of view, especially the parameters which affect the comfort properties become more important. This paper reports the effect of structural parameters of double layered woven fabrics, such as number of interlacing picks, period of interlacing and number of weft skips on the basic comfort properties of the fabrics (thickness, air permeability and wicking properties) produced according to Taguchi orthogonal array design. The investigated parameters were determined before and after finishing treatment. According to the results, it is found that period of interlacing has an important effect on the thickness and air permeability of both untreated and treated fabrics whereas in terms of drying coefficient, the effect of the investigated parameters is not statistically important.
