    Applicability of Gypsum-Doped Adobe (Adobe with Gypsum Dod) Covered with Paddy Straw in Agricultural Structures and Sustainability: Wall Design Application

    The combination of factors such as population growth, industrialization, urbanization, changes in production technologies and consumption patterns; cause climate change and environmental pollution problems. Therefore, the concept of sustainability and the transfer of resources to future generations are of great importance. The aim of this study is to design a wall for use in agricultural buildings where the climate effect, especially the wind and rain effect, is minimized and the paddy straw, which is an organic waste, is evaluated. This design is aimed to be sustainable, more sensitive to the environment, consuming less energy, having economical and at the same time ecological advantages, useful and ergonomic that can provide healthy living conditions. Gypsum-doped adobe (adobe with gypsum dod) was preferred as the material. Rice straw was used as the covering material. In order to make the design aesthetic, the De Stijl art movement was tried to be reflected in this wall design. The study consists of four stages. These stages are design process, projecting process, application process, static analysis. In this study, especially by trying to propose a protective, economical and sustainable solution, by building a wall in two directions with a height of 170 cm, in length of 140 cm was built. As a result, resistant, design alternative that minimizes the negative effects of wind and rain has been created for the implementers who will make construction for agricultural purposes. In this case study, It has been tried to offer a protective, economical and durable and environmentally friendly solution against variable climatic and environmental conditions for those who will construct agricultural buildings.

    Evaluation of a Modern Architectural Building in terms of Sustainability: A case study of Çorlu Municipality Building

    Corlu municipality building was built in 1984, by famous architects Maruf Önal and Hakkı Önel through modern architecture signs in Turkey. It was designed with a modest and rational approach, with meticulous construction, although it is a public building in line with a modern style.In terms of location, the municipality building was built in front of today's Cumhuriyet square, between the Kumyol Street and Omurtak Street, in the period when Salih Omurtak Street was just opened, during the years when the construction in Çorlu was not concentrated yet. In the project area, it was decided to demolish the Sücaettin primary school building built in 1936 and the old reinforced concrete baths and cisterns belonging to the Çorlu municipality and replace them with the municipal structure, and they were placed in this area with the square in front of the municipality building. Around the building; the Military Hospital, the Officer's Club and the 5th Corps Command buildings were located which were built in the 1930s. The aim of the study is to preserve the building and to sustain its life longer by questioning constructional building systems. Therefore the target is to preserve the function of the building with the original architectural language and concept. To design a structural system that will increase the strength and similar characteristics of the existing structure to the previous level. Creating the level determined analytical and experimental means within the framework of current regulations and to ensure that the performance of the building is at a level that will prevent wholesale collapse in an earthquake. Therefore the structural systems of buildings are to be rearranged according to new earthquake regulations.

    Increasing the Vertical Load Capacity of Reinforced Concrete Waffle Slabs With Varying Operating Loads Using CFRP

    Retrofit with fiber polymer composites is one of the new generations retrofitting techniques that is rapidly becoming widespread. CFRP provide effective solutions in terms of durability as well as increasing the flexural strength and shearing capacities of RC structural elements. It is more suitable than traditional retrofitting techniques, especially in buildings where the architectural function must be preserved. The subject of the study is to determine the earthquake performance according to TBEC2018 principles of the existing medicine production facility with a frame system, which was built with conventional RC method in Çorlu. In practice, the effectiveness of retrofitting with CFRPs was investigated within the scope of the study. After determining the earthquake performance of the building, the realization of the additional effects that will occur due to the operating loads expected to increase on the structure, with the retrofit using CFRPs, was designed and applied on the site. In a highly hygienic environment, retrofitting alternatives have been investigated and structural safety comparison has been made. In the earthquake retrofitting application of the building, the advantages of retrofit with composite materials were utilized and advantages and disadvantages were determined compared to traditional methods.

    Seismic Performance and Retrofitting of Prefabricated Industrial RC Buildings Using Conventional Steel Braces

    Prefabricated reinforced concrete (RC) structures constitute the majority of industrial buildings in Turkey. Such buildings experienced heavy damage and some totally collapsed during the devastating earthquakes that occurred in Turkey within the last three decades. Similar problems arose in the latest earthquake sequence (Mw 7.9 and 7.8) occurred on February 6th, 2023 in Kahramanmaras. Many industrial buildings poorly designed and constructed to older codes partially or totally collapsed. This paper describes seismic details, performances, and potential retrofit schemes of a widely used prefabricated building type defined as single-story frames with columns hinged at top (almost 70% of the inventory). Retrofitting is inevitable due to revised regulations (major changes were made on behavior factor). Since industrial facilities require minimizing downtime for occupants, using steel bracing systems is mostly preferred. These systems could also be cost-effective. /,X, or Chevron vertical steel bracing configurations are used for increasing the strength and stiffness. Since the amount of transverse rebars are insufficient and they have 90-degree end hoops (instead of 135-degree hoop), ductility has always been a concern and should be improved by CFRP wraps. Within the scope of the study, case studies (designed and implemented) related to bracing retrofit are given. Pushover analyses are used in the performance evaluations.

    Süperior Mezenterik Arter Kaynaklı Sağ Hepatik Arter ve Aksesuar Sol Renal Arter Olgusu

    Normalde truncus coeliacus’un üç dalından biri olan arteria hepatica communis, duedonum’un birinci kısmının üst yüzünde arteria hepatica propria ve arteria gastroduedonalis dallarını verir. Arteria renalis ise arteria mesenterica superior’un hemen aşağısında, aorta’nın yan taraflarından dik açı ile ayrılan iki adet kalın arterdir. Mide fundusu adeno karsinomu şüphesi ile takip edilen 64 yaşındaki erkek hastaya çekilen Spiral Bilgisayarlı Üst Abdominal BT’sinde a. hepatica dextra, varyasyonel olarak a. mesenterica superior’un proksimalinden, arteria hepatica sinistra ise truncus coeliacus’tan orjin almaktaydı. Olgumuzda çift arteria renalis sinistra varyasyonu da izlendi. Hem arteria renalis hem de arteria hepatica’lardaki varyasyonlar, giderek artan girişimsel radyolojik işlemler, transplantasyon ve vasküler cerrahi işlemler nedeniyle daha fazla önem kazanmaktadır. Bu yüzden hastamızdaki gibi mide karsinomu olup gastrektomi ve lenfadenektomi planlanan olgularda aorta abdominalis’ten ayrılan arterlerin anatomisi ve varyasyonlarının iyi bilinmesi gereklidir.
