dc.description.abstract | Throughout history, settling near river banks has always been the first choice because of fertility of lands and supplying of water needs. Nowadays, rivers are used for different purposes. Greenways provide natural corridors and environments in urban and suburban areas, along with recreational, transportation and nature education opportunities for urban residents. In this study, changes of the Meric (Maritza/Evros) River ecology because of urban life were determined and a greenway proposal incorporating ecological, recreational and cultural potentials in this area was prepared. | en_US |
