Examination of lean manufacturing systems by simulation technique in apparel industry
Özet
In this study, production time of three different products is determined by examining their production process and simulation models of these products are created by implementing statistical distribution of production times in an apparel company which is considering lean manufacturing principles. The validation of simulation models is done on the basis of mean throughput per day statistically. Afterwards, recent models are redesigned according to lean production principles, alternative models are created and examined in SIMUL8 software. In addition, a new algorithm which allows line balancing in simulation applications is developed. ‘Heart Algorithm’ called application tested on all models and positive feedback which increase the mean throughput per operator has received. © 2020 The Textile Institute.

Creating an Alternative Production Line by Using a Simulation Technique in Duvet Cover Production
Ünal, Can; Demirbaş, Zeycan Aydan (Inst Chemical Fibres, 2018)In this study, the discrete-event system simulation technique was used in order to create smooth work flow on a duvet cover production line. In accordance with this purpose, a model of the work flow of a duvet cover was ... -
Analysis of polyacrylonitrile nanofiber yarn formation in electrospinning by using a conical collector and two oppositely charged nozzles
Buzol Mülayim, Beyza; Göktepe, Fatma (Taylor and Francis Ltd., 2021)Nanofiber production by electrospinning has become a common production method as it is an easy and flexible system producing nanofibrous webs. However, direct spinning of nanofibers into a yarn would lead to conversion of ... -
Artificial Neural Network Predictions of Up-Flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) Reactor Performance in the Treatment of Citrus Juice Wastewater
Elnekave, Moiz; Çelik, Suna Özden; Tatlier, Melkon; Tüfekçi, Neşe (Hard, 2012)The operation of a full-scale up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor treating citrus juice wastewater was observed for two years. The average total chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency was determined ...
