Tekirdağ Namık Kemal Üniversitesi’nin Süleymanpaşa İlçesinin Ekonomik Gelişimi Üzerindeki Etkileri: Öğrenci Tüketim Harcamaları Özelinde Bir Değerlendirme

Abstract

Üniversitelerin ekonomik büyüme, sosyal gelişme, rekabet edebilir mal üretimi ve hizmetlerin sağlanması, kültürel kimlik oluşumu, sosyal bağın ve kültürün sürdürülmesi ve sonuçta yoksulluğa karşı mücadele ve barınma kültürünün desteklenmesi gibi konularda çok önemli bir konuma sahip olduğu konusunda genelde uzlaşma olduğu görülmektedir. Üniversiteler bilim ve bilginin en etkili/kaliteli bir şekilde üretildiği ve bu birikimlerin işlendiği kurumların ilk sırasında yer almaktadır. Üniversiteler kuruldukları şehirlerin sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel olarak gelişmesine katkıda bulunurlar. Bu nedenle, pozitif dışsallık yaratmaktadır.

There is generally a consensus about the role of universities: They have a crucial role in issues such as economic growth, social development, the provision of competitive goods and services, the formation of cultural identity, the maintenance of social ties and cultures and consequently the struggle against poverty and the culture of accommodation. Universities take the first place among the institutions where science and knowledge are produced and processed in the most effective and quality manner. Universities contribute to the social, economic and cultural development of the cities where they are founded. For these reasons, it creates positive externality.
